The Eagle Has Landed --- roughly...
So… after 3000+ miles of driving fun the trani decides to sputter in Paducah KY. Stalls the engine at rest.
Fuck.
So Billy and Suzy decide to hi-tail it back to Chicago on a wing and a blown transmission.
Shift into neutral when braking is the way it waz. Don’t take too many pee brakes. Keep the cruise-control at 76 MPH and hope you don’t hear a bang, thump screeeeech for the next 400 miles.
(Billy has been slid into the ditches at high speed too many times with blown tires. Not fun.)
But the Gods smiled on Billy, Suzy and Benit das Dog and all arrived unscathed.
To sleep now… more pix tomorrow.
PS: Paducah is cool…

Hyper-Detailed Airplane Models – Neatorama
(Photo: George F. Lee, Honolulu Star-Bulletin)
Retired dentist Young C. Park used aluminum to create incredibly detailed, realistic models of a Corsair and a P-51 Mustang. His airframes incorporate rods and pulley action, just like the real thing.
Using a tweezers, the controls can be moved. All cables and linkages are in place to work the wing control surfaces as well. Young Park has since carved a pilot’s face and hands from solid aluminum and built an articulated pilot to sit in the cockpit.
